Team Tenterprise were crowned overall champions and took away a £1,000 team prize after winning the B-Enterprising Boot Camp.
This year, guest employer Accenture introduced the technology based challenge and taught students about DARQ technology (Distributed Ledger, Artificial Intelligence, Mixed Reality and Quantum Computing).
This was the biggest Boot Camp to date with 118 participants taking part in the weekend competition. 18 teams battled it out over a weekend while working on an enterprise challenge set by Accenture. Over two days students were given training and took part in fun challenges to help with idea generation, teamwork and pitch training. On Monday 2 March, all 18 teams battled it out in three separate heats in different rooms. The final pitch off took place in the main Lecture theatre of the Business School and everyone who took part in the competition got to vote on the outcome.
The winners of the Boot Camp were:
- 1st place - Team Tenterprise (£1,000 team prize)
- 2nd place - Team Enterprize (£500 team prize)
- 3rd place - Team CoCo (£300 team prize)
Previous Boot Camp winners and participants returned to the Boot Camp as mentors helping teams with their ideas. UoB alumnus Mercurius Saad spoke to participants about his journey after Boot Camp and talked about how the Boot Camp inspired him to create his tutor business. He is currently working on his company TutorBloc full time and has just recently hired two current UoB student internships in London.
