Google UK and Princes Trust go into partnership to help young people develop tech skills and get into work

This week I was invited to the launch of Google and Princes Trust new collaborative partnership in Digbeth, Birmingham.  A partnership which is committed to helping our young adults develop the

skills they need to be fit for the future!

To set the scene, Nick Stace - UK Chief Executive for Princes Trust comments that in 2030 80% of jobs will be A LOT different to how they are now. Our young people need the confidence and resilience to manoeuvre through these digital times!

Ronan Harris - Google MD for UK & Ireland announces that they are invested in our young people’s future, and have invested £1.6 million grant to work with Princes Trust to support 4500 young people in the next 2 years!

Andy Street commented: 'it is so important for young people to possess the skills they need to shape their future.  It is wonderful to see The Prince’s Trust and Google working together on such an invaluable programme opening up opportunities for people across the UK in an increasingly digital world.'

As an Enterprise Educator, the key messages for me here were clear…. Enterprise Education supports our students to be future ready!   By designing a curriculum where students “learn through doing” on an experiential module, they are solving problems using creative and critical thinking, developing resilience, confidence and higher level digital skills which will help them not only as students, but as lifelong learners so they can adapt and navigate their way through an ever changing job market!
