Jonny Driscoll won an award for the Innovation category with his company Loopd - a Social Learning Environment and a cross over between social media and Learning resources to make learning for young people exciting.
“Its competitions like Bseen that inspire us (students) to invent and then develop ideas; just like I did with Loopd. Its amazing to think, that a simple competition invite that I received by email several years ago, has inspired all this activity; Loopd has not only changed my future forever but it has initiated the launch of a company that will revolutionise how educational opportunities and staff/student interactions are communicated in many universities throughout the UK, and eventually the world."
Michael McLeod, who is currently a postgraduate researcher in the school of Sport & Exercise Studies, created the company UniGreenScheme when he spotted an opportunity to recycle unwanted items left in skips at the University. He won his award in the Networking category.
